| Drones and Chanters of Cameron bagpipes are made from 130 year-old Scottish oak, harvested from the forests of Lochaber. The oak logs are delivered to the Cameron workshops at Arivegaig, where they are sawn and dressed. Prior to assembly, the seasoned and dressed oak is impregnated under high pressure with a specially formulated solution to fill any open grain and maximise its strength and durability. | ||
| Each part is hand turned and milled. It is carefully measured, inspected and tested at every stage of manufacture to check that it meets our stringent specifications and high quality
standards. Cameron bagpipes are on display in Scotland's world-famous College of Piping in Otago Street, Glasgow. A review of Cameron bagpipes was published in Piping Times, volume 51, No. 1 in October 1998. All pipers who have played the Cameron pipes agree that they like the tone of the drones. Bags are made from seasoned hide. All are hand stiched and rarely need seasoning. Covers are forest green velvet with silver trimming to complement the natural oak. Cords and Tassels of Cameron bagpipes are forest green 100% wool to tone perfectly with the bag cover. | ||
